I recently bought a 2006 3500 with a reviva block with only 80k on the motor.
I recently got a ticking noise once the engine is warmed up and it’s slowly started to get louder so I changed the oil and added some additive to the fuel thinking maybe it’s an injector or cp3 tick and I haven’t driven the truck yet to see if that helped out at all yet.
That’s because I went to adjust the valves and I got TDC and the exhaust valve rocker on the #1 cylinder was lose and the intake was tight. I then rotated the crank 1 turn and back at TDC both rockers are now tight.
No matter how many times I rotate the crank a majority of all rockers are to tight to move. The previous owner said he adjusted them before I bought it but I’m thinking he might have done it wrong.
is there something else I should be doing or does it just sound like they are that far out of adjustment?
truck does smoke a lot of grayish smoke until it’s fully warmed up and seems to be getting worse too. 3k miles on new injectors also
