Leaving with son to go camping tomorrow and big vibration this morning. Rear universal in drive shaft. How do I get drive shaft out to put it on the "bench"???? Mine has 47,000 on the clock and can change universals but don't want to tear boot on carrier bearing??? Thanks, LOVE THE SITE!!!!!

I did this a year ago and it was the only time I've done it, but I think this was the procedure: unbolt the clamps on the rear u-joint, pry it away from the rear-end yoke and the drive shaft should drop down. Then just pull the drive shaft out of the carrier bearing and it's ready to put on the bench. I don't remember having any problem with the boot.
