Hey Guys & Gals, Name is Ray I'm from Westchester County NY about 15 minutes north of NYC. Im a firefighter I have 12 years on the job. I also own a business called Evergreen Organic Recycling based out of White Plains New York. I run many diesels from Peterbilt Tractors, Mack Roll Off, JD Excavators, JD Payloaders, JD Dozers and a Komptech Shredder that has a huge Cat C18 in it. Here is where the cummins come in; I also have a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually that has been worked to the T by my mechanic "The Diesel Doc" I bought it used from him. Besides that beauty I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn with the 6.7I HO Cummins this one is bone stock (at the moment) it has 60k on it and looking to let the "Diesel Doc" have at it.
I am here to learn and help wherever I can. I thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide. Happy Coal Rollin'

Thanks Hokie. You know getting into the cold weather now so the rough starts and cranky equipment tis the season lol
No Way Ray,

Block Heaters and Grid Heaters,

Always plug mine in, makes it easier on the Engine, especially for longevity...

That Komptech Shredder ?

Is that a Tub Grinder ?

We rent one, (don't remember the Make) twice a year, it has a Cat V12 in it...........

The dodges start great. I never plug them in just the glows. My excavators start no problem cause they are all fairly new. My dozer on the other hand is an older 855 she needs a little wake up juice in the morning lol My recycling yard has no readily available power so plugging in is not really an option wish it was though.

Yes Komptech is a slow speed shredder not having much luck with it recently.

Diamond Z is a big high speed tub. Thats a beast burning 28-35 gallons an hour.

I do move my equipment around and do on site shredding and grinding depending on the size of the job and or pile. Otherwise I use the dump trailers and containers and run round robins with the material.

What kind of business are you in?

Well Ray,

I work for a Municipality and we collect brush and Christmas Trees through out the year, Mandated Recycling.

Just curious about your Shredder if it had a Cat V12 in it. I like to stand there and just listen to the Raw Power.............

I do a lot of work with Municipality's here in NY.
My shredder has a C18 Cat in it. Not a V, straight motor. She burns anywhere from 15-24 gallons an hour. But boy does she hum. Its great when it gets into something you need a little extra power for!
