So it all started yesterday my check Guages came on I had no voltage. I was on my way from FL to Ga. I rode it out until it stopped had no power. I shut truck off popped the hood. Smoke was coming out my second battery passenger side. I unplugged battery truck started! 15 minutes later same thing. No voltage. I had my truck towed. Today I slapped in a new alternator and 2 brand new interstate batteries. I got the truck to fire up. Truck feels as if it’s in limp mode I had over 8 codes when I scanned it.
P2509. P0251. P2146. P2149. P2509. P0251. P2146. P2149. I cleared all the codes truck still doesn’t have the power it should I have close to 750hp in the ole girl she’s not running how she’s supposed to. So I go to reset my truck turn key turn key turn key. Now I have 3 codes P0633 P2607 P0069. I’m SOL atm no clue wtf to do. Everyone is saying ECM is shot I don’t think it is due to it was fine before hand please help I’m located in Austell Georgia need a Cummins gurew my name is TJ first time ever on here.
Thanks

Maybe the grid heater circuit needs looked at. I'm not up to snuff on late model circuits maybe someone will chime in. Should be a fusable link in it. Maybe it smoked.

I couldn't answer that as I've never done the delete. I only suggested it because one of the codes was for the air intake heater. Maybe make sure any of those wires you disconnected for the delete aren't grounding somewhere.

My ECU went out last year and I think it was from arcing the positive battery post to ground with a wrench while working on it. It ran kind of odd for a few weeks then nothing. The first place I sent it to was recommended by Cummins. They said it couldn't be repaired. Then I took a gamble ended up sending it to a guy in Florida who had an ad on ebay to get it repaired. It was $500 and is still working good.

I'd be checking all the wiring to make sure nothing is bare, melted or burned up before sending the ECU out for repairs. Check all the fuses and relays. If something caused it then that needs to be addressed before sticking a good one in it.

What do your battery connections look like? How healthy looking is the crossover cable?

Wild things happen to these trucks when the batteries and cables are not healthy.
Dirt_Cheap's advice is where I would start.... ECU reads voltage from driver's side battery and tells alternator how much to charge passenger's side battery. If crossover positive cable is bad and not sending good reading to driver's side, it will continue to charge passenger's side till it is fried... With engine running, check voltage at Alternator then passenger's side battery and last but not least, the driver's side battery. Curious what voltage is ECU is seeing as well. Would like to think they are all within .5v

Whenever the passenger's side battery boils over it is usually a sign the crossover positive cable on top of radiator is bad. Filling out some info of your truck on your signature makes it a little easier for the troubleshooting process.

P2509 is loss of voltage to ECM and first code to deal with
ECM controls fuel and air so yes it can cause all other codes and limp mode.

P2509
Possible Causes
POOR CONNECTIONS AT THE BATTERIES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE
OPEN FUSED B+ TO ECM
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
BATTERY + SHORTED TO OTHER CIRCUITS
RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED
BATTERY + SHORTED TO GROUND
INTERMITTENT CONDITION

The code to focus on is 2509... it's likely once this is resolved the rest will disappear...If you really want to solve this problem run 1/4 OD cable from ALT Charging port to Drivers side Positive... The advice given posted above are solid.
