pinion seal leak

A mech that I use for "big" jobs (pinion is small job) advised me that labor & parts it was less than $150. Thats what I did. Apparently there is a req about tightening the seal so you dont bend the flange behind it lest you do other damage. Hope that helps gents.

I just had mine replaced under warranty.

What causes the thing to leak; mine went out at 22k miles; what gives? Inferior parts? :confused013:
