Ok, cruisin down the freeway at about 70 TST set on Early Twins, 4 hp and 2 tq, rail pressure at 2, timing at 12* auto..... Hammered on it and at about 80 there was a "thud", nothing loud, like it had been bumped into neutral only it hadn't. My ABS and BRAKE lights came on on the dash. Coasted to the shoulder and that was it. It starts and idles fine but won't go into any gear. No leaks, no weird sounds. The ABS and BRAKE lights went out while getting towed home. I'm assuming she's broke.:CRY: Just under 29,000 miles. Can anybody comfirm this based on the info?

I'm gonna pull the TST and take it into the dealer and cross my fingers but I'm preparing for the worst.

I don't want a war but but which direction should I start looking for a tranny? It'll always be a daily driver but do plan on small twins, Smarty, and the necessary supporting mods. Opinions are great and I'll take them as such while I do as much research as possible.

look into the goerend trannies..when you talk to dave hell know exactly what youll need to do what you want it to do

Sounds like a shaft....possibly input or output....IMHO don't bother with another useless stock tranny....call a reputable shop and get a built unit. Good shops include: NADP, goerend, HTS

if the dealer will fix it get the new tranny and parts from them. then take it home get a built trans and sell the fixed stock tranny to help pay for the built tranny that's what i would do just my .02 though.

Ok, here goes the war that I didn't want to start... Why does HTS seem so much cheaper that say... ATS?? I'm not trying to compare these names directly just trying to figure out what I'm paying for. Is It the name I'm paying for or what am I getting for the $4000 difference?

I guess If I had to put a HP number down I would say 600 - 700. Don't know if I'll ever get to either but I only want to do this once...... not that I can afford it but what fun would this be if we could just go out and pay for stuff right ????:ah:

Only problem with this is that all the trans guys have core charges, so you'll have to send your rebuiilt stocker to them. Sounds like a shaft, and HTS is one of the best trans out there. ATS has been having issues and with them your paying for the name. HTS, Goerend, and Suncoast are much better tranny's

Could be the flex plate as well, any weird sounds when it idles? And do not for the love of god buy an ATS tranny.

Stay away from ATS...sure like everything else put together by hand...some problems may arise with other brands....But ATS always seems too come up when you hear of problems....haven't heard of many HTS or NADP units having problems.
