2006 Dodge 3500 6 speed with the 5.9 Cummins. Motor has less than 160k on it. Bought this truck a couple months ago noticed I would have an intermittent dead pedal while driving. Let go and hit throttle again truck runs good. Install new pedal since only code is p2121. New Pedal completely unresponsive. Install old pedal and it works fine. Order a second new pedal same issue. Is there a chance that the previous owner wrote over the ECM with a tuner before removing. That is the only code on truck.
Thanks for any help.

did you reset ECM to sensor(s) ?
Most common cause is wiring , can test it

² Set Condition:
The ECM detected a conformance error between PPS 1 and PPS 2

Possible Causes
OTHER DTC’S
WIRING HARNESS OR CONNECTOR DAMAGED
APPS
INTERMITTENT CONDITION
ECM

I will read through that guide. Thank you. Allowed batteries to drain for 30 minutes lights on. I did the battery reset and depress and release the pedal no change. I find it weird I can put my old pedal back in and I get full response back. I’ve checked all grounds and cleaned it all. I do have one 750 CCA BATTERY AND ONE 650CCA not sure if that would cause any issues.

For this issue since ECM monitors battery voltage as long as same voltage measured from both batteries should really not make difference, but should eventually get same batteries .
Triple check wire connectors on sensor and connectors on firewall.
where did you get replacements from a lot of junk parts out there ?

I ordered one sensor from partsgeeks for 180 thought it was bad due to no response second one was from oriellys they happened to have in stock for 350. It’s a standard brand. Dodge oem is on national back order
