Good evening everyone,

Haven’t had this issue before. I would really appreciate some insight or suggestion on this if anyone has had this issue before.
I am in northern Illinois and today was cold, 18 degrees out when I went to start me truck after work.
The engine had a slow rotation and would not start after cycling grid heater. Finally it started and jumped straight to high idle. Immediately the engine light came on. I let it warm up for 30 mins. Shut the truck off and cycled the key 3 times and codes P1755 and P2146 popped up. After doing some research seems as if p1755 has to do with the transmission throttle valve circuit. I do t know how to fix it. And P2146 has to do with fuel injector wiring. Has anyone had this before? If so I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks,
Chad

Batteries need to be tested and probably replaced. I have been putting off getting batteries and my truck will go straight to 1000 rpm's when starting cold. I haven't got any codes yet.

I had same issues. When cold start with weak batteries mine would throw all kinds of different codes. Would finally start or sometimes only start after boost. It went right up to 1000rpm. Would start slow but alright for the rest of the day as long as not allowed to get ice cold. I bought 2 new batteries and installed them. While it was in my shop, I cleaned every battery connection on the truck. I pulled the grounds from the body and the ground strap from engine to chassis. Used emery paper and dielectric grease on them. Once all cleaned up, it spun over quicker than it had since I owned the truck and has never shot a code or had cold start issue since. I have been told that these trucks are really fussy with the grounding. I hope this helps. DDEC

ssteve Yeah youâ€re right it could be the batteries. Would you just use a voltmeter to test them?

Yeah the truck just wonâ€t shift out if 1st

Mine did that too. I forgot about the tranny issue. It went away after new batteries and codes cleared. No tranny work required.

You really need a load tester to put a load on the batteries, how well they handle the load determines what kind of shape they are in. Most auto part stores will test for free, just make sure they disconnect the crossover cable and test each battery individually. If one fails, replace both, that is important.

DDEC thank you for the information. I’m going to take the batteries to the local auto parts store so they can charge and test them. See if this helps anything. Electrical is not my forte because eof how finicky it is. Hopefully this helps.
