A friend's truck, he says that it lacks on power and threw these two codes. I know that p1693 is a companion code but I'm not sure what that means.

0216 is the death code.

VP44 is bad.

Right but in that article it has a list of things that could cause that code. I was wondering if the p1693 code made a difference? Just trying to rule out all other possibilities, you know...

P1693 is just a companion code (or a placeholder) nothing more.

You'll always get a side order of P1693 with every error code...hehe:

I had problems that I though to be VP problems, but only had a P1693, after days of frustration, i rented a scanner from Autozone and found P0336, P1689, and P1690, CKP problems. But 0216 is VP44 problems from what i have read.
