One of the individuals on the forum posted that they sent the monitor and programmer back to edge for an update, because the programmer needed a bit more time to clear the codes. They installed/programmed a time delay option for clearing codes. I called edge and they verified that it was an issue.

They told me that on some trucks the codes can be cleared in seconds and on others it takes about ten seconds. They are sending me a new monitor so I have the option to adjust the time for clearing codes. The customer service has been great!

Why I suddenly need to give the programmer more time to clear the codes it always cleared before is beyond me, but at least all is not lost (a bit paranoid).

Interesting. My PMT no longer clears codes on start up as well.
I'm glad you got your issue resolved. :thumbsup:

I hope it's resloved. I don't have the new display in my hand to hook up and try. I still don't understand what changed. I still have the butterfly gear installed

Wow. You get away with that up north. :S:
Code clearing wiht the BV still operational usually causes some heavy stumbling (choking for air) issues on cold outside temps. These trucks use the EGR to assist warm up. The BV will close and the EGR will open. With no operational EGR, the BV is closing and choking the intake.

I don't know, but it doesn't stumble when it's real cold but runs like crap for the first 30 seconds when it's 40degrees or above.

Do you think the butterfly might suddenly be causing the code to appear after the edge initially clears the codes?
