Might be the lift pump straining to keep up. If i was you id take that plug out and see ifit still does it. I remember someone having issues with that a while ago and it ended upbeing that plug. 23k seems low to me as mine goes up to 25k. IDK though id try the FPRV reinstall first. With just a mini doubt youll ever pop the valve anyways

70hp...I'm going to try a couple of things today. 1st drive it it without the program and if still does it put the original rail pressure valve back. I'm also going to check the diesel filter...although is 1k old and I done drive the truck with less than 1/2 tank ( I owned a gas station). I frustating as the old truck 2003 never gave me any problems...:banghead:

Update...this morning I put back the oem fuel rail plug, I had the one from H&S and the cel shutoff. The pressure now is 24-26K, I drove about 100 miles no issues. I will monitor over the weekend to see what happens. Also I spoke with H&S and I was told that the 2010 did not needed the rail plug...:confused013: that it was intended for 2007. I will keep you updated if it comes back again.

powerstroke8994-have you had any issues with yours?

My fuel rail plug is sitting in the minimaxx box right next to my desk.lol I never found a need to install it just bought it to have just in case i was popping it off. Rail psi doesnt get high enough to pop it yet. I have it just incase though. IDK why but seems like ive seen alot of the plugs casuing more issues than good. Ive had no issues with rail psi yet. Let us know how it turns out

I am having problems with mine also it has about 13,000 miles on it no cel's but the engine chugs on the highway feels like I am losing power then comes back if I increase throttle and rail pressure goes up it seems to go away. If I am on a higher tune its more evident. I change the fuel filter yesterday and no difference. I have the H & S fuel rail plug installed does anyone think this could be causing my problems.

Very possible sir. Why not throw that puppy back in? IMO though it almost sounds like a fuel supply issue though. WHat is your railpsi when this starts happening? Id get a fuel psi gauge and check what the supply pressure is. If you lived closer to me id help you do it as i have all the fitting to check it. But youcould always install a pillar setup w/ a fuelpsi gauge that would be awsome

Powerstroke I have put the stock fuel rail plug back in and I will see tomorrow when I go to work if its still there fuel pressure is all over the place when I watch it but i assume that's normal. I really don't think this is going to fix the problem as I put about 3000 miles on the truck with the H&S plug and no issues. Any other ideas other then taking it to the dealer as I will have to put the DPF back on.

Thanks

I put the stock fuel rail plug in many weeks ago and the truck has been running fine. Today I moved my trailer about 40 miles and the truck started to show act up again. I was towing around 70-72 on the highway and it started to skip, lug, chug, along I don't know how else to describe this. I am running 1600 rpms and the fuel rail pressure seems to move around a bit 13.0-16.5 bar. I tried shifted to 5 when it was doing it and it really made no difference. Whats strange is it won't do it all the time and I can't seem to see a pattern. After I unhooked the trailer and drove another 40 miles the truck ran fine. Any ideas where to look next.

Thanks

Was there a code thrown when acting up? If so was it to do with fuel pressure? Can't remember how many psi to one bar. What was fuel rail pressure in psi?
