I brought my truck to a diesel shop thinking i had a bad injector. NO, they were all tested and fine. SO he says the problem is in the injection pump. WTF.

what were the problems that you were havin.
a bad p pump is very rare. There could be a number of other problems before its the pump
I would see what part/parts are bad and rebuild it

:whip::whip:eek:k. well I have been having it run rough at 1250 rpms. it would cause the whole truck to shutter. Only happened at this point, rest of the time the truck ran mint. So I thought it was a leaking injector. But no it wasnt.

the shop is gonna do a couple tests on the feed lines and go from there.

Don't feel bad man your not the only one, my engine is a 95 12V with 78000 miles on it. My truck is doing the same thing as yours, I've read numerous post and articles about the 94-95 12V P-Pump having a problem with the DV ports warping and causing a miss condition ( great ) . I just bought a performance pump from Pensacola Diesel for 825.00, it's a great deal and really helped my truck come alive

That seems like a real good price for a p pump. Did you have to send your old one in as a core ?

Pensacola doesn't have a very good reputation for the quality of there products, terrible actually. There is a reason they are so cheap.

Do some more diagnosing and get a second opinion before you spend a lot of money.

My '94 4x4 reg cab (160 pump) is having a similar problem.

Bought it when it was all stock and had 303k on the odometer, and was running like it was brand new. At 315k, I installed DDP stage 3's, their high flow dv's, 3k springs, and I have a #8 BD fuel plate. Immediatly after the install, my truck "shutters" and runs rough at about 1000 rpms. I thought it might be a problem with my stock tranny/converter (was replaced about 45k ago before I bought the truck), because it shifts into 2nd early and shutters even worse and the same rpm. But driving down the road in 3rd or 4th, same rpm, runs smoooothe.

Just ordered a race tranny from nadp last week :headbang:, along with a billet flex plate and fluidamper, so I guess I'll find out quickly whether or not it coulda been the tranny.

Anybody have suggestions? Much appreciated, thanks

I don't really know. I know my tranny is ok because if I get on it from a stop and it doesnt shift at that rpm its mint...but around 1200 the whole truck shakes. Im leaning more and more twoards the pump cause just today idle seems a little off.

make sure you check the fuel pressure. I was misdiagnosed they told me my p pump was bad but it was just weak fuel pump pressure.

ok, weak pressure...but what would be the cause of that?

I doubt it could be bad..why would it only starve at one spot?
