:peeloutI have a 04 dodge 3/4 ton 6spd, when idleing, the motor will clatter every couple minutes. When taking off, motor wants to die. When clutched in, motor will rev up, then you can take off. Also runs rough in traffic but running normal on open road. Have changed lift pump, injector pump, new fuel filter, and clutch fan. Had bullydog pup on truck, but took it off to see if that was the prob. Can someone please tell me what they think is wrong?

sounds like the fuel control actuator - does the idle sound like it's going up and down and idle. also at light throttle, you can hear the engine change pitch. hope this helps some

Have the rail pressure checked. I worked on a 5.9 in a motorhome with a TS chip that did the same thing. It sounds like it is dieseling right? On the motor home, it was causing the fuel rail pressure to go too high. NOT GOOD! The injectors were popping off or firing prematurely causing it to diesel so to speak. This creates extreme cyl pressure and can damage the engine. Take it to some one who can check rail pressure and also injectors to make sure they are not sticking open.
