hi all,
i recently took my truck to a transmission specialist shop to get the tranny rebuilt, i shattered the flex plate so i got a new billet one, but they got the tranny all put back together and everything works fine but it just won't go into overdrive,:banghead: the solenoid is working and its brand new, and it is getting power, but it's just not getting the ground signal to kick it into overdrive. If i splice the ground and ground it my self it will kick into overdrive but what i don't get is why it isn't going into overdrive.

Could it be the throttle positioning sensor, could it be the computer, also could it be the overdrive off switch or a possibility of a broken wire im not able to see?

Any help is very greatly appreciated

thanks
Garrett

thats what i thought it was and they said they tested it and it was fine, but i think that it just needs adjusted to shift way sooner than it is, but it isn't shifting into overdrive at all right now :(

check the Low coolant temp sensor on the side of the block, and the high temp sensor on the hot line... if they are bad, they wont let it go into OD... or your comp is dead... easiest way is to jumper the plugs and test it...

its tucked WAY the hell up in there.. took me 20 minutes to find it.. jumper them by a piece of wire from one terminal to the next.. all it is is putting the ground to the OD... if the sensor is bad it will not work... they are also unavailable to buy new, so therefore i jumpered mine permanently and manually watch the tranny temperature...
