Well the new rams have really grown on me. Right now I have a 12v and love it, and itll be my truck for a couple more years but when Im ready to upgrade I think I might go with a used 10+ model year truck. Was wondering what all your general opinions are of the truck. My next truck will either be this style or the 2006 style with the 5.9l still. Im not a big fan of all the emissions crap so thats whats swaying my liking so far....

I had the 04.5 as my first diesel truck now I have the 2010. The fuel mileage was a tad better with the 04 but not that much better. There is a night and day difference with the two. The 2010 tows the same weight that I use to tow with the 04 much better. It isn't the power but more the six speed transmission and the new turbo. I hardly feel 11K back there. So if you were going to buy something,my opinion would be go for the 2010. if you don't like the emissions stuff then there are many here that could help out with the deletes. Me I'm sticking with the emissions since it doesn't affact anything I'm doing with the truck and I have all of the extended warranty's for a 100K

I have test drove a 6.7l before and Love the engine and trans but hated the emissions crap. This is the major factor for me leaning my next purchase towards a late 5.9l truck....such as an 05-06.

Unless you want to make an 06 the last truck u ever buy, your gonna have to buy an emission friendly truck someday. The government is never going to go back to allowing the pollution. So you may as well do it now
