Ordered my '14 Laramie this morning.

Finally got tired of dealing with dealers, picked one I liked, and went with it. Ordered a 4 X 4 Diesel/Automatic Laramie with everything except sunroof, power pedals, disc player, ash tray, and the 20" tires. It's white with the beige & brown bucket seat interior. I think I'm gonna love it. Hope to have it around the 1st of the year. While I wait, I'm still driving the '97 I bought new 400,000 miles ago. Can't stand to part with it, I'll keep it around for the dirty work.

You will love the Laramie. Compared to the 97 it's like night and day. You will actually be able to hold a conversation while the truck is running since it is definitely quieter than the 97. It is so quiet that you will probably leave the exhaust brake on all the time just so you can hear some cool noise. Believe me you will love that. The power is much more advanced; although, you will not get the fuel mileage you are getting with the 97. Once you get the truck and all the sensors are functioning like they should you will be in 7th heaven.:party018:
Another white one!
I couldn't imagine how hard the wait is once you order. Its hard enough to wait and buy one.

It's part of a carefully laid out plan. This way I get exactly what I want, when I want it. I really can't take delivery until after Jan 1st, too many taxable events already this year.
when I ordered mine I didn't even drive one I called they had the paper work ready.. I singed and left with her hope she last as long as your 97 but idk about all this emissions BS
Your not even going to know what to do when you get in it... It doesn't even compare to yoru 400k mile '97

Congrats
It will also give me time to clean out my garage so I can get it in out of the weather.
It's a big culture shock for me, I was so happy with my old, one, I've never sat in another, or driven a newer one until last month when the '14's started hitting the lots. I drove on a mile or so, but never got over 35 mph. I might have to go back to college or trade school to figure out how to use all the fun stuff the new ones have to it's fullest advantage. I always enjoyed the smoke & noise, I guess them days are over.
Do you mind sharing how aggressive your dealer was in discounting the truck?

I am trying to order currently, and want the best deal possible, about the best I'm finding locally is affiliate pricing 1% below invoice, plus rebates, plus one dealer will go $500 below that number to get the deal.

BTW I sold my 08, and am also driving a 97.....wrangler. Ugh can't wait to get back in a cummins!

This is almost exactly spec'd to what I'm looking to get. I'm guessing this had a MSRP of around $58,000. Please share what the out the door was. I'm not seeing much inventory in my area and don't want to order one yet, so not much leverage yet..

One dealer offered me 1% below invoice, which is affiliate pricing, even though I'm not an "affiliate". I decided to try for 2% under. I think if I had sent out that offer to 10 big dealers, someone would have gone that or better. I threw in the towel after visiting 8 different dealers, some as many as four times, and bought one from a small town thirty miles from home. It priced out at $60615 MSRP (sticker), or about $55,000 (invoice) They sold it for $53550. They did the DOC fee for $75, some wanted $389. Got full tanks of fuel & DEF of course, some only wanted to put in $30 worth. They threw in a set of Ram splash guards, the dealer prep, a DOT Inspection (don't ask), and first oil & filter change on them. There was a $1000 rebate too, and he called this morning saying that might change in my favor shortly, but didn't know much else yet. It was like pulling teeth to do much better, and I had two big dealers (Kansas city area) call and tell me not to bother coming back, they couldn't do 2% below invoice. So I did the deal, figuring if it was something the dealer was happy with, I probably paid too much, but really didn't expect much better. On the wall, I have an old "Keen Kutter" hardware sign. It says "The Recollection of Quality remains long after the cost is Forgotten"

You did fine. I went with a small town dealer at dealer invoice. Good people, good to work with.

To get 1% under, I would have to go almost 1000 miles. Kind of eats up the savings!
When I ordered mine from a small town dealer close to my house I was able to get them 500 below invoice, which I believe is within 50 bucks of the "friends and family" pricing. I will also get whatever rebates are available when I pick it up. When I called Dave Smith Motors in Idaho, the best deal I could negotiate on an ordered truck was 1000 below invoice. If it was a truck on the lot they were willing to go 3% below invoice to make the deal. For me the 500 bucks was worth giving up for the excellent service I have been receiving from the dealer I ordered from.

Or join tread lightly for $100 and get it anywhere:thumbsup:

I think you did good, especially in the beginning of the "14" model year. I recently went to try and buy a truck. The sticker was $59k. They went down to $56k and didn't want to give me what I want for my trade (2005). Needless to say, I still have my 2005. Still looking though. Good luck with your new truck!
