Well I just got done looking at that 06 megacab dually and let me tell you that is a very awesome truck. I didn't get to drive it today it was still hooked up to there car trailer plus until I can get out of my burban I can't get it so I didn't want to have him go through the trouble. However man I wish I can jump on that deal now. It has the 41k miles on it cause they tow there show cars all over the country so that's why it has a few miles on it.

Now another question I have for you guys is during the month of Dec how is it driving through Utah Wyoming, Colorado etc. Basically from WA to La. My wife is concerned about us having to tow our trailer from here to LA in Dec with ice/snow and stuff. I know we can drive through Cali and go around but it is roughly 300 miles longer that way.

For your viewing enjoyment. Hopefully they work.

Josh to find a stick you are most likely going to need to explore beyond the greater seattle area. At the current rate you don't need to pay above 35k for anything.

Stay away from anything that has been chiped, or modified. I say this because if the vehicle is under 30k on the od. and is not older than 3yrs
1) if you are the second owner you can tranfer the 3yr/30k waranty
2) the 100k warranty on the motor is transferable.
If there is any moding the dealer will try their hardest to eliminate any warranty.
Now some dealers will look past some mods than again maybe not. There are plenty of guys on here that discus in great lengths how the dealer screwed them out of their warranty.

most dealer's will warranty it anyways , especially in these tuff times of selling trucks. they need to give you the best possible deal..........eg. i bought a jeep commander not to long ago for my girl. while in there used parking lot we spotted an 07commander that had pretty much everything we wanted exept the 4wheel drive and "life time warranty" the chrysler offers for the their vehicles. guess what he wanted to give us this commander so bad he was putting a lifetime warranty on it for us...............at the end we ended up with an 08 with everything we wanted and even made him throw in a life time warranty from bumper to bumper for only like $4.00 extra /month.

you just gotta work them. goodluck:thumbsup,,,,,,,,..................oh yeah, they didn't even have there lifetime warranty for anything older than 2008models.

Josh, what part of LA are you moving to? In my opinion you will not find any better truck than the one you looked at. I disagree about that warranty stuff. Most dealers do a poor job that results in something else going wrong with your truck. I rarely take my truck in for anything. If I do I take it to a dealer, I will take it to one that I know has a mechanic who cares, not some kid off the street. Now that your coming to LA, I'll let you know which dealers you can go to for dependable service.

This guy is willing to deal on that mega cab I would like to get it if we can figure a way out of my suburban and into it. That south bend clutch in it is a dual disc or whatever and he said it can be difficult getting used to while towing. Is this the best clutch for what I would need? He also mentioned if I wanted we could put a different one in If I didn't want it, it makes the clutch pedal pretty stiff. What is your opionion on that he said there was a few other clutches that good be better choices for towing. He also has different injectors in it, don't remember what kind.

Alright :thumbsup I know we've got a lot of knowledgable guys here that love to turn wrenches. Also, DeRidder is a great place to get warranty work done, as well as, Kirbyville, TX. It might be out of the way but for great service you can't go wrong. It may be on your way when you go back out to Cali?

I went took another look at that dually and well let me tell you what stumbled across. Turns out reason he is here on the Island for the weekend is cause his shop is sponsoring this big time photo shot with these big time photo guys. They had a Columbian girl in body paint taking photos ontop the megacab so needless to say I couldn't drive it today. There was a few import cars and couple choppers and about a dozen models and dozen or so photographers. Very cool it was a private party so invitation only so not many people there. They also had a guy there that was knighted.

Ok I am unable to purchase the RV at this time so I have to scratch that idea so I guess I will not be getting a truck. However my wife and I have discussed it and she doesn't want me to get rid of my suburban however depending on cost she will allow me to swap in a cummins into the suburban before she dies. So does anyone have any contact info to a shop where I can have this done. I am in the Seatle area but willing to bring it to another state depending on cost and how far.

the only main difference in my 2500 and the 3500 drw that i traded in was the one ton had a extra leaf in the rear. I bought my truck here in san antonio tx for 25,000.00 and it is nice but you just need to keep looking they sold my 07 megacab 4x4 drw 6spd manual for 27,000. There are a few dealers here doing half price on all trucks I talked with a guy got a nice 2 wheel drive truck for 14 grand.:$:

Guys I'm the OP in this thread I couldn't remember my log in info so I made this new account. I really appreciate all the input that you guys have given me back then and now in my quest to roll coal. I still have the suburban and still looking at different options for me. Who would have thought I would still be looking without buying a vehicle a year later.

We went from looking at 40' toy haulers to live in and buying a new truck to a different plan then a different one and from what I read what we actually did was different than what I posted in this thread. My wife and kids lived in her family's house while I was in training this year then when I failed to complete training and got stationed here in San Diego I moved them out here and we are living in base housing.

I posted a new thread about whats to many miles on a cummins cause I have been looking at high mile trucks because of cost. I still haven't made up my mind on what I'm gonna do my debt doesn't allow for much room and I really want to get something reliable, with power, and gets good fuel mileage. My suburban sucks at the above mentioned. I hope that I can get us a small toy hauler to take up to Big Bear and stuff we like it up there but cost a lot to stay the night.

I've been looking at ford's and dodges. Mainly because of cab space in the ford because I won't be able to afford a mega cab which would be my #1 choice.

I've also been reconsidering the cummins swap to my burban but I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of $ into a truck that isn't worth squat as it is. Also because time doesn't allow me to do that kind of work on my own. Paying someone for the conversion is more expiensive than buying another truck.

Anyways my rant is over I just wanted to express my gratitude to all the guys who have been patient with me in and helping me with questions that I have. Hopefully one day I can join the ranks of owning a diesel truck.

Well I own a 01 duramax ccsb now, ended up getting a good deal on the burban for trade in on this. So far I love it, I'm happy with my choice. Still one day I'm gonna get another burban like I had and do a cummins conversion in it, but I'll start with a better platform a 2500 instead of a 1500.
