Whatever you get, just know that you are going to have to deal with it for time to come. Read up on both the 5.9's and the 6.7, get educated on what your dealing with.

On a side not with a mild box/turbo back you can get the same hp/tq out of a 5.9 that a 6.7 has. And if your hauling all the time you may want to consider a set of gauges.

Well the difference in price between a truck here in the Seatle area and SE Texas would have to be 3,000 dollars plus difference in price for me to even consider purchasing a truck that far from here. What is the DPF delete kit? I've seen people discussing that but I don't quite understand what it is, and how will that affect warranty? Do you have any expierece with driving and towing with a 08 6.7 manual/auto? There has been a lot of changes with the Auto speed tranny since the auto with the 5.9.

What about 2wd or 4wd? I know I will never take this truck off roading so what type of advantages and disadvantages would there be with or without it.

DPF delete is the removal of the diesel particulate filter. Its a high tech cat that requires heating the exhaust up and burning excess fuel to clean up the air for the enviorment.

The egr recycles SOME exhaust gasses back into the intake manifold in order to reduce NOX emissions. The exhaust contains soot, soot is a carbon compound it is a very stable element (it is a 9 on the hardness scale) making it very bad to introduce into the combustion chamber it will scratch stuff.

To delete the DPF you need a box to trick the computer as well as a new turbo back exhaust, and to bypass the EGR you need blockoff plates.

2wd = slightly better MPG's + lower center of gravity.

4WD = vehicle capable of handling whatever you throw at it and you will probably save whatever money in MPG's you lose because you won't have to pay a tow truck every time the road ices over or is muddy.

I just don't know why they make 2wd trucks??? isn't that basically an el-camino?

Dangit lay off the 2wd i love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. You forget the ElCamino is a chevrolegs.

:lol3: I figured that might grab someones attention :rof

Maybe it's just because i'm from Montana, but I would never buy a 2wd, here in oklahoma its all you can find...
To be honest i wish my dad would have bought the 4wd, I got stuck out infront of my cousins hot friends house in the sugar sand, kinda imasculating. Although it was an excuse to be stuck at her house until 4 am :lol3:
