How come all I really see is when everyone stacks tst with smarty they usually only turn the hp settings up on the tst? Does messing with the tq settings drain fuel to easy or what?

TST fuels VERY hard, and turning up the torque setting only makes it fuel harder at lower RPM's. smarty itself fuels pretty hard at low RPM's and the added fueling may draw the rail pressure down too low if the CP3 is not spinning fast enough to maintain the pressure needed. if the rail is drained too much it will drastically effect performance and cause the engine to sputter and pop.

I've been hearing that running the TST on 3X3 or 3X2 is good for fuel economy.

hence why if you upgrade your fuel delivery you get insane power!

For me.....after talking to a couple of guys with close to the same setup as me, I have been finding if I turn up the torque along with hp on the TST I loose top end, but have some bottom end. If I turn off the torque and run just hp the top end comes back, but no bottom. The higher the hp on the TST, the more smoke I get, so I guess theres lots of fuel just not enough air. It also was suggested to me to loose the TST, but I think I'll play around a little more with it. Just my amature observations so far....

I wonder if turning the hp side up higher when stacked with smarty and just leaving the tq on say 0 or maybe 1 would make a big difference on top end?

it will. . .turning the torque up will make the TST fuel harder at lower RPM's, however you can have a breaking point wher going up to say 3 from 2 and you loose top end due to not having enough fuel.

I can run as high as 5/2 or 6/1 before things get to popping with smarty on #6. but remember, I still have the stock carter lift pump and fuel system ;)

one of these days I'm gunna upgrade that and my stock clutch. . .she's screaming uncle more and more these days, I still want to try for 500hp on the stocker before I do.

i have heard that 4/2 and sw#6 is one of the best combos to run with a stock fueling system... is this true?

any of you guys try the revo tnt program yet. try loosing the tst, you can adjust rail pressure, t/q, timing, etc in the options. just a sugg.

I have the revo/tnt stacked with a TST. Works great for me.

The TST does make high EGT's, though. Only on those quick, hard runs.

Forgot to add my new upgrades to my sig.

The reason I got good results with the stack:

BD Race Twins and ATS dual CP3 kit.

I tried the TNT tune, but some reason it wont work on my truck. I dont have any power below 2000rpm, but above that. .. HOLY CRAP!!! I about peed my pants. problem with that is that all my power was above 2K. I flashed my smarty with the TNT twice and got the same results with all tunes from 1-9 and all combinations of RP and timing.

the Revo tune does better for me and yea, I can say that SW#6 and 4/2 on TST is nuts. 5/2 is even better, but around 2900 I start running low on fuel. but thats alright, I shift long before that :D
