A guy at work has 100 gallon of WMO available but it is 8-10yrs old. Do you think it is still good enough to run for a fuel source? I am planning on taking 3/4 of each barrel to filter down to 10 micron and further cleaning it for a fuel supply of 20% mixture (20% WMO 80% Diesel). I have run WMO as a fuel source before but it was relatively freshly changed. Let me know your thoughts. If you have NOT run WMO in your truck and respond negatively, I will respond negatively right back at ya. Just be warned.

the only thing that might have changed over time is if the oil has taken on water. What are you doing to de-water?

I would recommend adding 10% RUG to lower the flash point. You will get a better burn. You can cut the diesel 10% so total you will still be running 20% dino.

Okay, the guy said the oil is probably closer to 15yrs old. I am gonna pass on that shipment of oil and look for something more fresh. Thanks for the response tho, I am probably gonna try out the idea of RUG also! Hopefully it adds a little more zip to the trucks performance when running WMO.

WMO needs to be heavily filtered probably down to 2m and it is full of soot. It was common practice in the late 70's and early 80's but is illegal to run now

It's illegal to cut off our catalytic converters and turn up our trucks, but we all do it anyways. It's ILLEGAL to use WMO as a fuel source and not pay fuel tax on it, in which I have that covered.
