Hello all,
About a month ago I bought my first diesel. The dealership stated they had changed the oil. So I have since put around 1000 miles on the truck and it is running great. Today i decided to do some maintenance so I cant start and new log book. I changed trans fluid, tcase fluid and both differentials. While I was searching for zerc fittings i tapped my socket against the oil pan and was surprised that it sounds hollow or empty.
The truck runs fine doesnt blow smoke, has good oil pressure, and doesnt run hot. I checked the dipstick several times and it is reading right in the middle of the safe zone. Am I being paranoid. My other trucks(non diesel) certainly did not have a hollow sounding oil pan.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and help, this site has been a wealth of knowledge.
