oil change required light keeps coming on

Did you change your own oil? What kind is it? I used a different brand than I am using now a couple of years ago(won't say cause many guys swear by it). I had similar issues, but not at your intervals, but prematurely, and I changed to DELO 400LE and haven't looked back. Just me. MY truck just didn't like the other brand , I guess. this was before I deleted, by the way.

Have you changed the oil since it was deleted? I changed my oil right before I deleted the truck, and I kept getting the change oil required message. I finally broke down and changed it after about 2k miles and reset it. I have yet to see it come back on with my regular change intervals now.

was told by the PO he was running DELO, and thats what i have run in my last 3 trucks, i didnt change the oil after being deleted, ill be changing it this weekend before the truck goes to mexico.

As far as I can tell from reading several different articles and general posts on the internet, the oil change indicator doesnt actually have anything to do with testing the oil itself. It simply monitors general use of the engine, power output levels and calculates when it beleives the oil needs to be changed.
