install was not easy its a gravity drain system @ 1gpm processing used 3/4 in drain tapped into spare frost plug just below filter that drops into oil pan, then utilized tap from top of oil filter to feed it, 3/8 line feed, also this unit needs positive air to press for float drain i drilled and tapped into boost tube post turbo have used similar set up on my heavy equipt for years would highly recomend it

Your oil change interval will depend on how comfortable you are with the percentage of the soot in your oil before you change it.

I run a Frantz By-Pass Oil Filter & at 5k my soot level is .1%. The question is what is a safe level of soot? Everyone has their own opinion on this.

I came up with mine by comparing it to a gas engine car.

My wife's Honda Fit with a Mobil 1 oil filter soot level was .2% at 5k. So for me .2 % or less is my limit, ie I change my oil at 5k.
