alright guys im debating on looking into rims again .. i have a 05 leveled out running 35x12.50 toyo mt's on stockers right now. i had bmf reaper wheels 20x10 -19 offset on 33x12.50 federal mt's .. i didnt like the offset as far as how wide the wheels stuck out , im looking at 18's 18s maybe 20s again. x9 or x10 anybody have pics with there offset .. im looking at maybe just 2inches sticking out or somthing similiar .. not the 4-6inches that most guys are running now. i dont want to repaint my truck or buy fender flares.

I just replied to your other thread but it looks like you've given us a few other details here. If you purchase an aftermarket wheel that is wider and has a lower offset than your stock wheels you may run into a decent amount of rubbing if you are also trying to stick with a 35" tire.

If recommend looking at an aftermarket wheel with a higher offset if you want to try to stick with a 35" tire. A 9" wide wheel with a +18mm offset will help minimize the amount of rubbing you'll need to deal with.

If you are also planning to drop back down to a 33" tire the negative offset wheels I suggested in your other post should be fine.

What's your year and model? What wheel and tire set-up are you currently running?
it is a 2013 2500 4x4... it should be in my hands by the end of the month.. Been looking into the BMF Rehab wheels in a 20x9.. they have a 5" backspace, talked to BMf yesterday, and that is the only backspace they make, and looks like i'm run the Toyo AT2... either in 285 or 35s.. suggestions either way would be appreciated.. I was going to use the Icon 2.5 spring leveing kit, with the ICon shocks all 4.. and the adjustable track bar. I don't like the tires sticking out too far.. and was concerned with the 5" backspace.. any thoughts on rubbing and looks.. thanks

According to my information the wheels will sit 1.5" past the factory fenders. A good tire size to consider for your application is 295/60-20. This size is just under 35" and will fill up the wheel wells nicely.

Hey TX- You have any rubbing issues with your 35's?
no sir - you can see where it has slightly rubbed the paint off the inside of the A - arm? but it must have been real lightly!! on most trucks you can hear when they rub when the tire is turned all the way , mine doesnt!! didnt cut into the tires either ... most guys run 35s with them leveled .. just hurts your MPGs haha

How bout a general question and in your professional opinion.. What is the best size backspace to go with in order to keep the tires in w/o rubbing.. Wanting to use 20 x 9.. but i'll be open to the brand depending on backspace required to obtain the look i like.. Also wanting to use 35's or equivalent

18s vs 20s

im also wondering - is there a big weight difference between (bmf) 20's on 33's vs (fuel)18's on 35s - just wondering MPG wise if 20s would hurt more rather then sticking closer to stock with 18s might not.

A 20x9 with a +35mm to +40mm offset mounted with 295/60-20's would be an ideal set-up. The tires would only slightly stick outside of the fenders. Finding an offset this high in the 8-165.1 bolt pattern however is challenging. The highest offset we offer in the 20x9 size is +20mm which places the wheel outside of the fender by about an inch (not including the tire).

so on a 18x9 - same thing. mounted on 35s would a +1 offset stick out more then the +20 .... ive ran 20x10's -19offset and that was way to wide for my taste (like 4 inches stuck out)

Typically speaking, the lower the offset/backspace the more the wheel will push out away from the suspension. An 18x9 +1 will sit about .75" further out when compared to an 18x9 +20.

Check out this write-up we put together on offset and backspace.

The weight of the rim and tire combo can be very noticeable in acceleration and braking. I have 33x12.50 on 17x8.5 that weigh 99lbs. and 325/60R 18's on AE114's 18x9.5 that weigh 113 lbs. and there is a significant difference in stopping and takeoff. Something to consider when looking at wheel and tire combos. Trying a new combo 285/75R 17 on a cepek rim that should weigh 91 lbs. anxious to see how these respond.

Just bought 20x9 +20 offset for my 2012. What a good tire size for stock suspension?
