yeah but from what I inderstand the red diesel will mess up your truck ( 6.7 ) so bad
Same fuel, just died red, you can always check to see if it's ULSD
should come up with an invention that takes out the red, who ever did would be rich!
it is the exact same as road fuel except b4 it goes into the tanker there is red dye injected in it and its something like $.38 cheaper
its just the red dye, but it will mess up your orings in the pump, they use the dye to mark whats taxed and whats not.
yup thats why it is soo much cheaper... it isnt taxed so you figure you have sate and federal taxes on reg fuel and red fuel is the same just not taxed..
ran 2 full tanks through mine a month ago and no problem what so ever, don't know if it was lsd or ulsd.
So if I were to pull up to a pump at a station that sells offroad fuel, could I fuel up with it no ?s asked?
Dont forget it is illegal to run red fuel on the highways. And you dont even want to know what the fines are.

I know that its illegal, but I have yet to be pulled over and have my tank dipped, and I have asked around, and have heard of no one ever getting their tank dipped here in PA:thumbsup
They will sometimes pull people in Iowa over to check. We even had a IRS lady stop at our shop and dip all our truck and semis. BS if you ask me.
I have been threatened to have my tank dipped and a friend of mine has his dipped. The fine is by the gallon. It also stains your injectors so on tank is all it takes to label your truck for a long time, and i have heard of them pulling injectors too.
So is it illegal to run it on any public roads or just highways and interstates? Also, what would they do to a truck that had no red fuel in the tanks but had dyed red o-rings from being used on a farm?
red fuel is LSD....500ppm....ULSD is 15ppm. red fuel is better for your truck, as in it lubricated the injection pump and everything. and it hurts the environment more
and cheaper too.

It's illegal to run one any public road, as you did not pay "road tax". It's dyed for heating oil or construction equipment etc.
and cheaper too.
I was talking to a guy yesterday that owns a farm, he has red diesel locked in a $2.80 per gallon for the year :thud: So he said.
but its better for your truck and cheaper and sootier and more kick butt
I was talking to a guy at the shop when I was getting my edge and mp-8 in and he ran it all the time on his truck...an 07 5.9 but never had any issues in PA. Although, the dealers may not be too impressed.

So i think the consensus of this thread is for everyone to go Red. haha (dont do it, I'm not responsible for the idea)
