Is it possible to add oil to off road diesel and disguise the red dye? How much would it take?

The hwy patrol can(and does) do sniffer tests on the hwy's, it's not really worth taking the chance anymore with the price difference being so small between the two. I got nailed with farm fuel in my truck years back in northern Texas. Was overloaded anyhow(that's what got me a visit in the first place) and he pulled out the sniffer. I learned my lesson!!

I don't know how often but I guess every time you get pulled over there is a chance you can be checked.

by the time you get the oil in it to disguise it, you are going to have the same amount per gallon in it anyway, so why do it? imho... opcorn:

you better filter the sh!t out of it, and i wouldnt reccomend it on a high pressure fuel system like the 3rd generation and up models, fuel pressure to high, get something in there, and kiss that engine goodbye... :thumbsup

Not worth it bottom line. Illegal...if you get caught you will be sorry :CRY:..and you might of well just of paid the little extra road tax to be safe :thumbsup.

I'm sure it isn't that much. Where did you get that number from? I know in the state of Ill. its $500 for your first offense and $1000 beyond that.

thats in CT and the D.O.T. gave me those numbers after being pulled over for exsesive smoke in a freightliner with a cummins

yeah ever thing is nuts around here my buddy got a ticket for covering a cop in black smoke the cop was pissed and came up with all these bull sh!t violations that cost hime $800

law inforsement CAN NOT just pull u over and check your tank....they have to have a reason. like speedin, no signal ,or blowin smoke on a cop.........also i believe they have to get a warrant to dip your tank.......here in philly the only way reason their checkin for the red........is if your over weight pullin loads.....and ommercial trucks ..........not daily drivers
