How hard is it to swap a nv4500 into a 1st gen? Is it a direct bolt in except do mounts? Or would I have to get longer/shorter driveshafts? And tcase?

Blumenthal has a nv 4500 kit for the 1st gen that i just did. no drive lines to cut. no clutch to modify. it was the easiest swap ever. not cheap but worth it to me. no more getrag yah.

Depends on how you do it. I used all 2nd gen stuff (engine adapter, bellhousing, etc.) So I had to modify drivelines, because it moves everything back 2.5". Oh, I now have a 2nd gen starter too.

the adanced adapters is all bolt in if you have a 4wd and the correct input shaft except for cutting the floor i used the AA kit it was a breeze

Theres two different styles of input shafts on the NV4500 so to work with the advance adapters kit the splines must be 2 3/4" long
