Should I do it in the parking lot or get towed?

I let my buddy use my truck for a night and apparently he doesn't know how to drive standard. My clutch is completely shot and I have a South Bend on the way. Here's my problem, I'm stationed by Camp Pendleton, CA and my parents live by Fresno, CA ( a little over 300 miles ) and I need to get it home to the shop to do the repairs. My brother in law has an '03 Duramax and he says he'll tow me home in a couple of weeks....:banghead: Anyone have some advice that can help me out?

Maybe I should just suck it up and do the repair in the parking lot vs. having a Duramax tow me 300 mi. for all to see.....

Just take some shoe polish and write a real fast time on your windows if you get towed:lol4:

You need to make a poll. Get Towed by A Duramax? or Do the Job in the parking lot?

My vote goes for doing the job in the parking lot.

Great idea.... I have until this weekend to decide. If I get enough votes I'll decide off the pole.

I say get it towed... suck up the pride a little bit... I would 10 to one rather work on it at home ( or parent's what ever) versus trying to work in a parking lot to me that would be more embarrassing then having it towed

tow it... besides if you ride with him in that max you might realize what a great truck it really is.. I have owned 2 of them.... Just could not afford the 40k truck and payments..

Tow it. I would hate to pull a transmission in a parking lot. If something unexpected happens and you end up waiting for parts or something you are stuck out in the weather.

that sucks i tell anyone that wants to drive my truck if you can get it in gear have at it so i dont have to worry about them putting the clutch out cause no one can get it in gear worth a dam theres a trick to it i think somethings major wrong with the tranny or synchros but i guess i do have a dual disk i dont see a problem with doing it in a parking lot bought the same as a shop but inside is always better i like the fast time idea on the window its not uncommon to see a duramax pull a dodge cause even duramax guys know what they need to be competitve a cummins when i think duramax i think pretty clean town car
