I thought I had a bad day. A friend had this come to the shop recently.
I think this is a Wartsilla 46 if so that rod is about 9 inches in the skinny part. So my day was great.

Turns out it's a power plant in El Salvador and F'd obviously. He says a week or so and good as new. Yes it hydro-locked on the water side not fuel. Water does not compress well does it.

Some from my shop. I wish I could find the one of the block that was completely cut in two from a rod. The head was holding the two halves together.

Shouldn't that oil pan have a magnet in the middle to keep that liner shrapnel from being sent through the oils system?

Ha! It does have one on the drain plug but it was full.
