fuel pressure is 10psi, there are no codes. I have removed an edge chip,no change.I repaired an oil leak at the side cover and had to remove the injector pump, filter and lift pump for access. Engine started fine after bleeding system but will not restart. if it sets for a couple of days it will start on its own 1 time but will not restart

Sounds like you are getting air in the system or bleeding off somewhere have you rechecked all of you inj lines and return lines. I rebuilt a 8.9 cummins out of a case magnum and could not get it to start. The return line was leaking and nobody thought that that would affect it only a loss of fuel. They told me I hade other problems. I replaced the copper washers to fix the leak and wala it started right up. Also are you sure the inj pump is in time with the engine?

yeah, sounds like it's bleeding pressure off somewhere, then getting air in the lines.

I'm still confused about the silicone? What are you talking about?

The injection pump is in time
silicone spray is very flamable and has more lubricate than wd40, I agree DO NOT use ether. It only takes a quik shot and it starts
