I have a 1997 Dodge 2wd Cummins. Just rebuilt the trans. All forward gears work great. Reverse chatters and the truck barely moves. Tightened the band, pressure is 170psi in reverse- 270psi with tv cable pushed. Truck barely moves in Reverse. Please Help ASAP. Thanks. Everything air checks good.

Transmissions are the black magic part of the power train to me but I think whatever went wrong happened during the rebuild and if anybody thought you could fix from the outside they would have piped up by now.

Sorry, I think it is coming back out. If it makes you feel better, a co-workers F-450 had 2 transmission rebuilds within a month of factory delivery.

It's all good I build off-road racing trans. mainly turbo 400's- not so used to these torq flites. I finally figured it out, the direct clutch pack in the overdrive unit was miss spaced. Fixed it no big deal, just frustrating. Thanks for the reply.
