Guys,

Im at my wits end here. I recently replaced my vacuum pump and Ps pump due to the vp shaft breaking taking out my ps pump. I then replaced my hydroboost pump because I could not get the ps or pb working again. I still have no ps or pb after numerous times of turning the wheel lock to lock after applying the brakes. This is all done with the front end on jack stands. I then followed another members advise and cracked the lines from the hydroboost pump and tried to bleed out any air. Even took it for a test drive hoping to free it up. Still no brakes or steering. any suggestions.

What kind of condition are the hoses in? I've seen them colapse inside very similar to a rubber brake line from contamination and age. Also, did you have the engine running while bleeding the air out?

It still sounds like it's airbound or the ps pump just isn't working. Try flushing the system out with fresh fluid. Drain it all from the gearbox and the reservior

Sometimes just reving the engine up to say 2000 rpm for a few seconds will allow the vanes in pump to sling outward and start pumping. If not, get a new pump and use power steering fluid. I perfer Valvoline in blue gallon can. Also add some PS lubeGuard from a NAPA dealer.

If I crack a line the pump def makes pressure.

If it is making pressure as you state then bleeding procedure is perhaps bad. YOU say have on stands. O'K With the indicated fluid in system, run for 10 seconds. The fluid should have bubbles in it. Let it set for 30 minutes and top off fluid. Run for 10 more seconds while turnig wheel and let set for 30 minutes. Repeat procedure and add pumping brakes after a few cycles. Remember NEW POWER STEERING FLUID.

Your results don't make sense. If you open a line while running you supposedlly have pressure and fluid flow. Can you see fluid movement in resivor while running?????? Does the fluid in resivor appear to be aireated???????
No movement of fluid may indicate the pump drive shaft is broken, but that conflicts with flow with line loose??????
You know there are shops the do this every day and fix. Take a load off yourself and help the economy.

hyrdo boost is not doing its job. if you replaced it what did you replace it with? new or old? remanufactured? if remanufactured take it out and manualy move the pedal rod by hand. remanufacgtured ones come seased up from them repainting it and not covering certain parts and paint sticks things up. lots of lacher thinner and fluid to free it up.
