I have a 92 cummins it had a utility bed on it a while back. I put a regular dually bed back on it tried using the factory tail light plug and nothing works. Checked the bulbs and there fine. I'm not getting any power to the wires. Checked the fuse under the dash they are all fine. I'm not positive the lights worked before but know they don't work now. This truck is a wiring nightmare so I don't even know where to start. Any help would be great thanks

If you don't already have one I strongly recommend you purchase a Factory Service manual (FSM). With it you will have all the wiring diagrams necessary to track down the issue.

You can get one here: Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel Parts and Accessories - Geno's Garage

I checked I don't have a digital copy of the wiring diagram I could share but I'm certain someone here can post one or point you to one to get you going.

Ill have run a wire from the frame to the bed like suggested. I also tried to replace every fuse and relay that I could find and it didn't help. I also tried to figure it out for hours today and the only thang I could come up with is wanting to light it on fire. I tried cleaning every ground wire that I found and nothing. I have a fsm but the only thing worse than me trying to fix wiring issues is me trying to read wiring diagrams. Thanks for the responses I really appreciate it

The headlights come on. And the front blinkers work but they are very light weak blinks. It also has cab lights that I haven't messed with yet but when they blinkers are on 2 of the middle cab lights start blinking very faintly also lol I have no idea what's goin on with this truck.

OK you have a Ground issue. If light's come on but are dim then you have a major ground problem even look under dash to make sure the 1's down under are tight .

Man I had all these crazy problems too. I had weird lights issues. I had gauges fluctuating when I turned on a blinker NIGHTMARE. I started from scratch. Re grounded everything starting at the battery to frame to engine to firewall to main dash ground posts back to frame to bed. You can't over ground. It was a pain but solved ALL my problems
And make sure your hazard button on the column is DOWN. I worked for hours on taillights to learn (from this wonderful forum) that if the button is up you have no BRAKE LIGHTS.
It's all repairable!!!
