Nitto has added a new model to their Grappler line of tires. If you're looking for an all-weather
workhorse that's just as stable as it is versatile, the Exo Grappler AWT may be worth a look.

"Built to meet the all-weather demands of off-road truck enthusiasts", Nitto Exo Grappler AWT features 3-ply sidewall construction
and bares the 3-peak mountain snowflake symbol for severe snow conditions. Other benefits and features include large staggered
shoulder blocks for increased off-road traction, variable pitch tread blocks for reduced tire noise, and a durable tread compound for
chip resistance. The Exo Grappler will cover popular 17", 18", and 20" sizes.

Hopefully we'll be able to get our hands on a set, so we can push this tire to its limits.

What are your thoughts on the new Exo Grappler AWT?

Those look good, probably my next set of tires as I hate the replacement for the Silent Armor's.

The Nitto version of this tire looks closer to an AT than an MT but is an MT/AT hybrid. The soon to be released Toyo version is closer to an MT than an AT.

If you are often in mud this Nitto tire will likely disappoint but it does look more aggressive than their dedicated AT tire. The big plus with this tire is the winter traction Mountain Snow Flake rating. That is very attractive to those of us with 6 months of snow per year on the ground.

We've received our first shipments of Exo Grappler tires from Nitto. As always we guarantee the lowest out the door price.
If you find a competitor with a cheaper advertised out the door price, we'll beat it!

In addition to the the sizes linked above, Nitto added the following sizes to their Exo Grappler line-up. These sizes should be
available sometime towards the end of this year.

  • 35x12.50R-17
  • 35x12.50R-18
  • 35x12.50R-20
In other Nitto news, did anyone else notice this?

Got a chance to check out the new Nitto Exo Grappler in person today. One of my co-workers
had a set of 285/70R-17s installed on his Ram 3500.

Initial Impressions:

  • The tires look fantastic!
There is a decent amount of void between the tread lugs and the sidewall lugs are meaty!

  • Great ride quality.
No noticeable road noise and the tires ride extremely smooth down the road.

  • Very little weight to balance.
Nitto tires are known for uniformity and this set is no different. 1.75 oz of weight or less was needed.

Here are a few photos from this morning.

We do not offer Toyo tires so I don't have much information their new Open Country R/T. From what I've read this model will be available sometime next month.
You guy should carry them! It's the only reason I don't buy my truck tires from the local Discount. My wifes car, our trailers and currently my 73 bronco all have Discount tire mounted tires on there. Next set of tires for my bronco will be Toyos. :stirpot:

We don't stock them but your local store should be able to special order them. Speak to the store manage next time you are in the market and he'll do the best he can for you. Thank you for your continued support in Discount Tire! We really appreciate your business.

Was thinking about the Toyo AT2 but i just might have to stick with Nitto! Loved my trail grapplers but looking for something a little better on road and better in the snow. Look great, any idea when you will have the 35/17 in stock? I am going to be replacing in a month or so

According to Nitto, their 35x12.50R-17 Exo Grappler will be released sometime next month. We don't have pricing or an exact ETA just yet. Let me look into this further for you.

Definitely a good LOOKING tire there for sure!
However, when one has a bad experience with a certain brand they seem to have it stick to their memory like peanut butter and for this reason alone I would NEVER purchase another set of Nitto (Any Nitto!) for my truck! - Hell as Ive said before I would never even except a set of them if a company offered them to me FREE!! :(

Hence the reason I will stick with Toyo as some other members here in this thread have mentioned them being their favorite tire! Hands down the best IMHO. Sorry folks - its just MY opinion and one Im sticking to since its worked so well for me thus far!
