I have an '04.5 2500 quad cab 4x4, Edge Juice w/attitude and 5in turbo back exhaust exitting before my rear axle, K&N drop-in filter.

My question is suggestions. What have other people done from a similar setup to run more power? I'm not talking general ideas ( i know those), but specifics. Which injectors, where to get them, install time and suggestions like that.

This is my tow rig, I use it now to haul my Jeep to the trails and a camper from time to time. I want more power, but not too crazy.

Thanks

You need to address your trans before you go adding power and towing at the same time-auto or manual.

Ditch the k&n read about it on here, they're not good for our applications.

Before you get injectors you need a turbo and in order to select that you need to figure out how much power you want. Give us a hp number to work with because not too crazy is pretty arbitrary and will result in poor advice.

I have an automatic. I haven't had any problems so far with it. My first oil change with it was clean fluid. I'm looking around 400hp/800 ft lbs. Thanks for the help

The Gorerend had the best customer service. But its really just personal opinion. I have had mine 2 years and tow a 32 ft gooseneck loaded with round bales and never take the overdrive off. It has been awesome!

Anyway, more to look back at the initial post, at 400hp you have 0 need to upgrade the injectors and most likely no need to upgrade the turbo unless you want to tow really heavy at 400whp-then you probably should. You definitely should throw some money at the transmission. A good billet single disk clutch, valve body, servo and cover, accumulator piston, heavy duty band strut and anchor should be enough transmission to do what you're looking to do.

Sweet, I noticed a slight drop in psi from turb (40 down to 38-37), is that from lack of back pressure from a straight through 5 in exhaust? Any fix for that, or suck it up

Lower pressure isn't at all a bad thing. That means that you're system is flowing better and has less restriction than before. Making power is directly about more flow which can be achieved with more pressure, but is preferably achieved with more efficient and better designed components. Remember flow is better than pressure, pressure breaks parts and flow gives potential to make power.

That being said, you're not making less power because you're making less boost so there's no need to suck anything up haha.

But as everyone has said, get that trans built up stronger than stock or it won't like you at all lol.

Next would be your trans then there's an endless list of things you can do. I'd start with an upgraded lift pump, airdogs are popular. If your gonna do injectors I'd go ahead and do a 2 micron kit to replace your stock fuel filter for extra insurance. If you go with anything bigger than 50 hp sticks I'd say a turbo would be needed to keep your egt down especially if you tow heavy. I got my nozzles off here for a really good price.
