Well put my friend.... My philosophy exactly..... Injust plug mine in all the time in the winter then I don't feel so bad just starting it and let it idle for about a minute than I take offThe block heater is a standard feature on the Cummins. On my 07 they didnt include the cord either so I picked one up direct from Cummins on 2100 S and 5600 w for 15 bucks. I think its a good idea to plug your truck in anytime the temps are below freezing if you can. Cold starts cause un-needed wear and plus these trucks take forever to warm up.
you guys should feel lucky i cant plug mine in unless its 25* or colder i used to do it sll the time but when i plugged it in when it was say 32* it would throw a false code and cut my power below stock. I would love to plug it in every night just for the reason it idles quieter and warms up quicker. Oh well thoughWell put my friend.... My philosophy exactly..... dont know about 3rd gens but my first gen recommends plugging it in 40 degrees or lower, and its a must after 0, it seems to drive 100times better if i plug it in, so i do every night in the winter time. The block heater is a standard feature on the Cummins.
