Hey guys, I just bought a 05 5.9 L 6 speed cummins dodge. It was a certified 1 owner. it has 97,000 miles and I want to start new and keep this thing running good. Obviously my first step will be to change the oil. After I do that, what should I do? Any basic, cheap, and easy ways to ensure a good truck?

Oil/Filter, Fuel filter, transfer case, front and rear diffs....Should be good to go after that. Maybe pick up a fuel additive if you like running them.

use only Baldwin PF7977 fuel filters. most Cummins commercial truck shops carry them.

carry one in the truck for that bad load of diesel, guaranteed you will get a load of cat piss diesel.

Change ALL fluids and start fresh. Run a bypass kit and run a good synthetic lube like Amsoil, and you will be just fine, and save loads of money.
