Hey, I bought a 12v about a month ago and I am in the process of installing a nv4500 into it after breaking the input shaft in the new jasper auto I got a week after I bought the truck, I am trying to figure what HP/Tor I am at for a new clutch

1997 3500 dually

62mm borg warner turbo (dont know alot of the specs it is for sure a 62mm borg just dont know what the back housing is, and the previous owner installed a 35psi gauge... obviously it gets pegged im guessing 40-45 psi from the charger)

90hp sticks

SB intake and larger hot and cold piping into AFE intake manifold

5" Exhaust

Airdog pump

And the plate and afc housing have been tuned up, Im not sure what plate is in but its slide up all the way, its not a Smokey pig either so figured its been tuned properly.

id say 400ish... its hard to say without knowing your actual boost tho haha
Hah, thats funny, I said some bad words to myself too when I saw that 0-35psi gauge in there pegged all the way down, was like WTF why!?!? So you would guess the 400hp range though? I am looking for a ball park for a clutch dont want to be under clutched or break the bank on one I dont need
I think to be safe id go for a 550-600 horse clutch from south end? I think I also hear very good things about valair
Get the bigger input shaft no matter what, you've already broke a stocker. I'd say you're at 4-450ish hp. Get a clutch for at least 500hp though, that way you're not running on the ragged edge of its capability all the time. If the funds are there, go ahead and get a dual disc and the big input. A 600hp DD will generally drive and take off smoother than a 500hp single, although it'll shift slower. And I'll be a Valair customer for life, nothing wrong with South Bend at all but the customer service at Valair is grade A.
Put it on a dyno and find out!

I wish 5 hour drive to a dyno in my neck of the woods, and the way I am sitting now, the truck can go out out my bay (no trans)

Thats what I was thinking a 500 hp clutch, I broke the stock input on my 47re, I figured the input shaft in a nv4500 would hold up better then the ones in the 47re? Or is that wishful thinking?
