I just picked up a 2001 with an auto and about 180000 miles on it. It goes through the gears really nice except sometimes it does a little clunk/lurchy thingy when it shifts into OD.. it goes through the other gears really nice though.. could this be the torque converter or possibly the whole tranny?

Truck is completly stock and well taken car of with all fluids including transmission fluid/filter changed every spring

help much appreciated :cbadge2:

You are porbablly catching tranny on a 3LU to 4LU at relative light throttle. Many will show a agressive shift at this time. Enjoy your new ride.

Ok thanks! Its music to my ears to know its not the typical bad auto stuff! Would upgrading to maybe a TCI torque converter help any? I plan to use it for hauling my stock car around this summer
