Just picked up a 06 qcsd 4X4 auto. My first Dodge. Looking for exhaust, programmer, intake suggestions. Nothing crazy just give the truck a little help. I assume a tranny will follow. Any help is greatly appreciated.

a good drop in non oil filter in the stock box,
smarty jr. if your getitng a tranny in the
near future, then go with a smarty sr and a
good set of gauges. a good flow through
muff is all you need for now since you already
have a 4" exhaust. if you want more noise,
get a muff delete pipe. you can also get a
cat delete pipe...

...and do some research on here. check out the
3rd gen section and read for the next two
hours.

Thanks for the input.

When you say "drop in non oil filter" I assume you mean air filter but not K&N or AFE type that you spray with oil prior to use. What else would you recommend? My son has an 02 Cummins with the Edge programmer with all the data. Seems to be agood unit but not offered on the 06. Anything offered with the guage info included with the programmer or is the Smarty the only way to go? If I delete the muffler is it stupid loud? I am 43 and would like some sound but not "kid" loud.

get a good flow through muff if you want some nice sound
and keep the cat on if your worried about noise. you can
get the edge juice for your truck as well, it has built in
gauges and safety alerts along with a nice display. i think
amsoil has a non oil drop in filter for our trucks. if you decide
on a smarty jr, gauges arent necessarily needed. if you go
withthe sr, get a set. always good to be able to watch
boost and egt.

Probably all for a while. Not trying to make a race truck, just a solid piece. Would like to improve the sound by add sub/amp and maybe more stereo if not sufficient.

search exhaust in forums guy has a video of outside and inside the cab . He lets you here it with resinator and without it will give you an idea of sound without muffler if i find it I will post link. Diamond Eye has a straight pipe kit 4" sells on ebay for around $300 I would get one of those and if you think its too loud add muffler . I personally think its a good sound the turbo back in it reduces some noise.

Swap the muffler for a 4" magnaflow nive tone but not loud. If your just going for some slight power increases and monitoring the Edge Juice with attitude is a good choice but not going to be a high end HP maker down the road if you decide to go that way.
