It will increase turbo noise a little bit. As far as helping, it will filter better and move some more air.

new intake
finally i got my new intake in today :stirpot: .. Ordered the mega cannon and will be installing this weekend looks relatively easy does it help with the turbo with sound or is it close to the same? i have heard it helps but how much??

You'll hear the turbo whistle more, that's for sure. Your EGT's will also drop. I saw about 100 degrees at WOT.
