I've heard it mentioned, but no further details... don't think they've unveiled it yet.
Considering the mileage difference as well as cost between the two, I can always see a diesel in the driveway. For a truck of equal capabilities, it would be around 12mpg overall... compared to the 21 that I am getting now(hand calculated). For me to sway diesel would have to be over twice the cost per gallon before a gas engine that has equal power will ever be in my truck. Not to mention the Jetta that is putting me in the low 50s mpg... compare that to the other gas engines. With current gas prices, I'm thinking that the auto companies are chopping-blocking anything that doesn't make 35 MPG... I wouldn't be waiting for a new Diesel anything with Diesel being over $5.00 a gallon.
Depends on where you are... here next to Houston we're just now beginning to see $4.50.With current gas prices, I'm thinking that the auto companies are chopping-blocking anything that doesn't make 35 MPG... I wouldn't be waiting for a new Diesel anything with Diesel being over $5.00 a gallon.
I don't think that most people are lucid enough to do the math though. And then you add the however many thousands that they are going to charge for the Diesel option... I don't see very many being sold.Considering the mileage difference as well as cost between the two, I can always see a diesel in the driveway. I agree. My 3.9 has plenty fo power for what I tow and has no problem keeping up with traffic and I can pull as high as 33mpg out of it.Enough people are swapping the little 4cyl 3.9 into their small trucks, it would be cool to see some production vehicles come with it!
