I saw a post for a 4? micron filter for the 6.7. I think it replaces the 05183410AA. The new canister does not have internal ribs. Does anyone have the new part numbers? Can't seem to find the post.:banghead:

Anyone know if the dealers have this new fuel filter yet?

Tried the dealers in Pensacola and Milton. Their computers both say it's on backorder. No ship date in either of their systems at this time. Figured I would pass it along...

So mulehunter is saying that I can't just buy the fuel filter plus the plastic housing? I have to buy the assembly that is attached to the side of the engine? The thing that the filter screws onto? WTF they couldn't have made the filter to fit the 2007 6.7s too?

The assembly (I believe) is just the housing and filter and that is the stock # they are referencing. You will need a different # to get just the filter (after installing the new plastic housing).

Anyone managed to find one of the new systems yet? If not, I wonder what those people with 09.5 model trucks (built after December 15, 2008), which came with this setup factory, are doing for replacement cartriges. I sure would like to swap this new setup at my next OCI.

I'm about to find out. I'm getting ready to head over to the local Cummins store for filters. Guess I'll see what they have to say about the fuel filter.

Forget the dealer, Cummins will have both the cartridge and the cannister. Forgot to ask what the cannister runs but I paid $37.32 for the cartridge, Cummins #FS43252.

That's the old filter, not the new one. Just got back from Cummins, also. That filter is no longer being made.

Yep you are correct, that is the old filter. My bad. The new number is FS43257 for the complete assembly and FS43258 for the cartridge.

Now for some fun information. My parts guy called and neither the assembly or cartridge will be available from Cummins until September. The dealers are the only game in town right now regarding these filters. BTW FS43252 has been discontinued, while I was in returning my filter a Dodge dealer from South Dakota called and wanted to buy every FS43252 Cummins had left. What does that tell you? :eek:hno:

Sooooo, does that mean we aren't allowed to change our fuel filters for the next 3 months, until the Governm...I mean, Chrysler, says we can? Is the Governm...I mean, Chrysler going to pay for any damages caused by clogged or faulty fuel filters in that time?

so what did they change on the new fuel filter? I read on another post that it has a finer micron rating like 4 microns. Is that true?
