Just bought me a new 2012 Cummins on my birthday yesterday, had a 2005 6.0 powerstroke that I had completely bulletproofed but just got tired of constantly fixing it. I have posted a few times in here before helping my brother with his 2008 Cummins so I have met a few people in here. Just wanted to reintroduce myself and say I'm a proud Cummins owner.

Great, I'm planning on getting one also....BUT...I would have put it on the 2010-2012 Owners forums, not the 2013 General Discussion forum..

Thank you, wish I knew these cummins as well as I knew the 6.0. Got alot of reading to do in the next couple months.

Guess I really don't have a good excuse for that other than I thought I needed to because I always plugged in my powerstroke. Do you not have to plug these new cummins in anymore?

Douglas Wyo, about 8 degrees out right now, havn't had much of a chance to go through the manual yet. Just got the truck yesterday and had to leave for work same day, what's a good rule of thumb for plugging this bad boy in?

Plugging in has more to do with having instant heat from the vents than the cranking issue for me... I know it'll crank... Just like the heat for defrosting and comfort..

Also help oil flow with it being warm already... In theory of course. lol

Congrats on the '12.. I love mine!

When did all you guys do your first oil change? What filter should I buy when I do? Just the napa gold? Also does anyone have a tool list on everything you need to do the oil change? Any type of tools that make the job easier?
