You and @Ram4Sam should become roommates at "the home". Sam says that he has his choice of lady friends there. He also told me if you don't have any game, he can teach you a thing or two about picking up the blue hairs. :stirpot: :rof:
To heck with that......I'm not sharin'.......:buttkick:

Real men have tow mirrors

Actually I had no choice as they came with the truck. I have to say I like the visibility they provide even if not towing. I do fold them in when I park as I am sure somebody would take them out if not folded.

1. Are there mirrors other than tow mirrors available on Ran 2500/3500? I have never seen them if there are non tow mirrors available.

2. Why are camper shells considered "old man"? I have seen a few posts on Pirate with that reference.

I'm going to the garage now to flip out my mirrors and join the Bull Winkle club.

Lol. It is true, I feel a little bit foolish if I am driving around without trailer and my mirrors are flipped out. But when towing, both my trailers are 102" wide, so that kind of necessitates flipping the mirrors out. And sometimes I just don't feel like flipping them back in between trailers.

I tow a lot, and have my slide in camper on 80% of the time or more. I do use the mirrors out when the camper is on the back, but unless I'm towing an 8' wide enclosed trailer, I never use them with trailers. Even with my dually I didn't use them empty. The spot mirror might be "better" when on the bottom, but you have to turn your head a lot further to either side to see anything at all. Which means your eyes are off the road longer. Not ideal.

Oh, and they look stupid folded out with no trailer. Especially in the city.

. This 60 year old Grandpa has been around long enough to see a lot of fads come and go by but what's this new childish "Towing Mirrow" club I've been reading about. You mean to tell me if I don't have mirrors that jut out into the next lane I would not be accepted into today's society of pickup truck owners.:omg::omg::rofj Give me a break,:doh:and what's this crap about driving with your mirrors up or down?
I just ordered a 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins, my first diesel and guess what, I didn't get those moose antler mirrors simply because I didn't need them because I don't tow.
OMG, how am I going to make it through the rest of my life without them.:onoz::lol4: I'll leave this to the younger generation who feel a need to fit in at any cost.:smile2:
Come on grand Pa. We're as good as we ever were just not as good as we once were........:wink2:

If your not towing no you don't need them but for those of us that do, their a really nice addition.

I haul the 48 foot race trailer and believe me when you have that much back there, those extra few inchs make a whole lot of difference. With my job hauling cars with a 80 foot car hauler I can see right well around both sides of my trailer.

NOT so with the pickup truck. I have to stay on my toes a lot more driving hauling something behind me with that than I do the big rig. Lot most blind spot area.

Have a 24 foot pontoon that is a bear to see around to.

Those mirrors come in handy for those that tow just not that important for those that don't. :)

PS. and OLD GUYS STILL RULE> :wink2:

Megacab with a cap on the back, these tow mirrors are great and really needed. Complaining about tow mirrors on a truck made for towing seems a little odd to me.

HAHA Those ain't mirrors. There flaps for slowing down..............:wink2:

Love the moose photo to.........LOL

Will say this. I just traded my ford 150 in for the Dodge. I will miss those mirrows. Ford towing mirrows really let you see around you and the dodge don't even come close.

Yes there are non tow availability.

The old man reference about caps in this thread came from me, it's a joke I made about my cap awhile back. Gross generalization is that grandpas have caps on their trucks.

Fixed it for you. I watch people drive around in the city with their bro-dozers and mirrors flipped out. It's ridiculous! Why would you want to make your truck almost 12" WIDER when driving on inner city streets that are too narrow as it is with a fullsize truck?

This thread is awesome. I personally prefer ford mirrors :stirpot:
My buddies big bad ford died, imagine that, and he was taking his kids camping so I let him use my Ram to tow his camper. He came back raving about how nice my truck was and how good it towed, but he couldn't believe how bad the mirrors were for towing. The look on his face was priceless when I showed him they flip up.

When I bought my '05 new, the dealer never showed me that they flipped up. A friend bought a 3500 around the same time and he showed me. I thought it was the best idea ever!
