Looking for suggestions on reducing the smoke output on my truck. Currently, on my '03, I am running a
Smarty S06 loaded with TNT software, DDP 90hp injectors, ED 63/68-14, and stock CP3 with an Arson kit.
I did the injectors a couple years ago and thats when things started getting really smokey on me. Since
installing the turbo a few months ago, smoke output has been reduced some under boost, but from no, to low
boost, it is still pretty thick. Like zero visability behind me thick.
I have played with the smarty settings and can get it reduced some, but no where near to what I would
like to see, or not see. Is UDC tuning going to have to be my next step? Can UDC greatly reduce my smoking
issue?
I do not believe there are any boost leaks in the system, though I have not ever pressure tested it. I'm
not having any problems building or holding boost. Rail pressures appear to be working just fine also, although
I have nothing to compare it to. EGT's have been great since the new turbo install. I have not seen it go over
1300 deg since the install, and have pushed it hard more than a few times, loaded and empty.
So is there hope? Or do I need to learn to live with it? Smaller or different injectors maybe?

Ddp injectors are dirty thats the nature of their beast replace them. More cp3 generally that wont keep up all the time with 90s and last but not least udc

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the TNT tunes more aggressive and smoky than the revo tunes?? I would agree that you'll need more cp3. What's your elevation? Most don't take that into account when building their setups.

Make sure you're smarty is updated. The newest tunes are a lot cleaner. That being said, I ran REVO SW9 for a day or two after I got the Smarty Touch and REVO SW9 is considerably dirtier than my UDC tune. UDC would definitely help.

Yes, smoke output went up considerably when I switched to TNT, along with the power output. Can't bring myself to step back down into the Revo tunes though.
Having trouble grasping how more CP3 will reduce my smoke output, but it seems to be a common suggestion. Would a stroker be enough, or would I have to look at duels?

Having a CP3 that can keep up with demanded rail pressure helps because your fuel is properly atomized before combustion.

duals vs. a stroker is preference and depends or your goals with the truck and what you're willing to spend. Although, duals are really not all the much more expensive and can be had for the same price if you can find a good deal on the 2nd CP3. My stroker keeps up fine at 800hp.

Both the Revo and TNT are the latest version that was released two years ago.

All above and make a boost leak tester and make sure you don't have a boost leak somewhere.
Never hurts to clean the map sensor once in a while either.

EDIT: Do you have a rail pressure guage? If your seeing over 23,000 wot long pull it's probably not the pump volume.
Not that more pump wouldn't make it better though. Quicker ramp up and keeping up.
