Alright so here's the deal new to the diesel scene however still know most of the basics. i have a 2003 quad cab 2500hd with 5.9l turbo diesel, the truck has 1 ton running gear and suspension, 4 speed auto trans, 2.5 leveling kit in front, 4" turbo back to 6" bull haulers, and 285/70R17 Toyo open countrys. Just changed the fuel filter and lift pump, recently done trans flush, oil change, and coolant flush. Right now I am averaging 13 mpg. I have been told that these generally get 17mpg. Any and all info would be appreciated tips, ideas, upgrades. please help!!!!

Do you have the stock injectors? You can get good feel for the truck's MPG potential here.(http://www.fuelly.com/car/dodge/ram 2500/diesel l6/truck)

Welcome.

Get us some pics and fill out signature with any mods. What part of the country, and what altitude?

Lose the level kit, the stacks, and the TOYO's (need closed shoulder highway rib tire in stock size of 265/70-17). Get a bed cover. Check alignment, brake drag and steering slop. No CAC leaks. Keep speed down. No idling. Never stop. No short trips.

And do a search. Lots of info. This question has been asked several dozen times. A thread title search on "economy" "mileage" "milage" "mpg" will turn up plenty of reading.
