Need lower EGT ideas

To get you up to speed, I have just added 90 hp nozzles to my truck as well as Edge J/W/A. Got a tranny coming from Goerend on Thursday. Now when I pull my camper and other loads I am running 1200 degrees running easy on the throttle. Probe is in the manifold b4 turbo. I don't really want to run 1200 all the time just trying to hold 62 mph. Would a water meth be the way to go for now to bring egts down? I want to do twins but just spent plenty on the tranny, programer, and nozzles. Any ideas on plumbing your own twins and keeping a stocker? Price? What kinda solutions have you guys came up with? There are cheaper alternatives than water meth

Start with the basics man

5" exhaust, turbo back
a real cold air intake
Intake Horn, dont know about all of them but we bought a Lonestar Diesel Performance intake horn at the ODRA event in Alvaredo this year for the 06 with 100 hp qaud and 5" exhaust. Dropped it 150 to 200 degrees. Thats before we put an intake on it.

You may already have this stuff, but couldn't tell from your sig. There are alot of intake horns out there but I think the guys on the forum building their own got it figured out. It's not worth the money for a high profile one you see at retailers. The lonestar intake we bought is exactly like alot of the intakes everyone is building. Just a piece of pipe, simple, and it works.

This may not be enough for you with those 90 hp injectors. No experience with injectors

Just passing on what I have found bud. Hope it helps.

if you wanna do twins look at ATS' compound setup using your stock turbo

Mo, Is this in addition to the stock turbo or is this a single? Thanks for the nozzles by the way, they work great.

some peeps like METH injection and some rather go other roughts....
for the past 3 years i been around tuning engines.... i have seen METH do wonders to engines......

so im a big Fan of meth injections... i ran it for 2 years.. and im goin to put it on my truck when i get the EXTRA money

90hp sticks are pretty big sticks on a CR, considering the stock sticks are good for 600hp. 50's probably would have suited you better if you tow, and on the stock turbo.

But to deal with the 90hp sticks and the E J/A you going to probably need a bigger turbo, and also some CP3 and LP mods (to take advantage of the sticks and hot unlock.

Switching to a Smarty Jr/Sr would also help as they run cooler than the E J/A.

A HTT 62/71/13ss turbo would do you nicely for towing (especially with an auto) and if you don't tow much a 64/71/13ss would give you a better top end with the 90 sticks and the HOT unlock...

As far as stocker in twin the stocker/S400 is a good setup.. Nathan at MPI makes top quality setups.

Personally I prefer to deal with EGT mechanically vs meth, especially when you talk camper towing, I would hate to be somewhere and run out and now have to limp home with eyes on the EGT gauge the whole time.

Lastly.. Ditch that K&N filter before it eats your turbo.
