could it be the FCA? i just hate to keep buying parts when it could be the cp-3. i already have $200 in the rail pressure sensor and the FCA is around $100 or so.

could a bad battery or battery connection cause this? i put two new batteries in the truck last summer but as i think about it i know if both batteries are not good or the connections are bad it can cause issues. i just dont know if a bad battery or connection could cause the pump not to work?

so while you are cranking the motor no fuel is getting to your motor.

call either one of these guys and talk to them. They are experts in their field.

If you have cracked the line from the cp3 that runs to the rail and don't have fuel coming out while cranking then I would suggest the following.

Start by unplugging the FCA,try to start the truck. If it start's then normally that means the FCA is working? Yes.Is it working correctly? Maybe not.

Something else you can do is take the FCA off the cp3,You do not need to remove the cp3 to do this. You will need to get a torqx "Spelling" bit to remove the FCA it is a size 25....There is 3 bolts holding it on to the cp3 they are not easy to get to but can be done.Once you have them removed wiggle the FCA out.

After it is out take two wires and hook them to your battery and touch the prongs on the inside of the FCA where it plugs in on the truck. It does not matter which is neg and which is positive. If you do this and the FCA doesn't "POP" then it is no good.

FYI take it easy on the bolts holding the FCA to the cp3 they can/will strip easy

It's going to the dealer. I'm not spending any more money on parts that are not broke nor do I want to take a chance and brake something. Thanks for your help guys.

Well please let us know what it turns out to be,mine won't start either.I took the injectors out to be tested.Put I also had fuel going to the rail, with a snap on scanner on it..it would only read 84 PSI while cranking.

Yeah I had a low rail pressure code which I thought was the rail pressure sensor and now I have a low ECM/PCM voltage code but I think the later code popped up because the batteries are starting to get weak from as many times and I've tried cranking it.

I'm still a confused. When you used either did it act for a few seconds that it was running while running on the either. IT should if you have compression.
