need help identifing this part

okay this is on a 2003 2500, 4x4. it's located on the pass side by the firewall. its some kind of vacum pump..anyone know what it does and or is called? it looks like it connects in to thw ecm???

Could it be the vacuum pump for the cruise control?

I have no idea, a hose goes along the firewall and down under the battery somewhere

It's the vacuum pump for everything the requires vacuum to run. We figured it out.
